Series of 6 golden patterned porcelain mugs inspired by the facades of the most famous Viennese Art Nouveau buildings.
Our porcelain cups are specially produced by Kahla/Thüringen and decorated by hand.
The Secession building was constructed in 1898 after the designs of Joseph Maria Olbrich as an architectural manifesto and exhibition hall for the members of the ‘Secession’, an association of visual artists who split from the long-established fine art traditions of the Vienna ‘Künstlerhaus’, rebelling against its prevailing conservatism. The dominant motif of the facade design – the laurel – symbolises the purifying energy of the union of art and life in a longed-for, blessed, golden age.
